A goal from USMNT midfielder Brenden Aaronson helped Leeds United earned their first three points of the 2024-25 English Championship campaign Friday, defeating Sheffield Wednesday 2-0.
The American opened the scoring for 24 minutes into the match and saw it doubled by winger Daniel James in the 48th. Through three EFL Championship matches, Leeds are now undefeated with five points.

It was Aaronson's second strike of the season, with his first coming on opening day against Portsmouth in a 3-3 draw. Friday did, however, mark his first start of the regular season after two-straight appearances off the bench.
Summer transfer departures of Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter from have opened up spots in the starting XI, and the American is doing his part in showing why he deserves a nod so far this campaign.
